Getting Started

This guide walks you through installing Mix It Up and completing the initial setup.

Requirements

• OS: Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit)
• Account: A Twitch, YouTube, Kick, or Velora account

Installation

Installer (Recommended)

1. Download MixItUp-Setup.exe from mixitup.bot.
2. Run the installer and follow the prompts.
3. Launch Mix It Up from the Start Menu or desktop shortcut.

ZIP Version

1. Download the ZIP archive from mixitup.bot.
2. Extract the contents to a folder of your choice.
3. Run MixItUp.exe inside the extracted folder.

First Launch: New User Wizard

When you open Mix It Up for the first time, the New User Wizard guides you through:

1. Log in with your streaming account (Twitch, YouTube, Kick, or Velora).
2. Connect your bot account: an optional secondary account your bot speaks as, set up per platform using the same Accounts page (Twitch, YouTube, Kick, or Velora), not exclusively a “separate Twitch account”. Note that Velora’s bot works differently and is not a separate account or login.
3. Import settings from a previous installation if you have one.
4. Review default commands and enable or disable them to your liking.

Updating Mix It Up

Mix It Up checks for updates automatically on launch. When a new version is available, you’ll see a prompt to download and install it. You can also check manually via Help → Check for Updates.

Preview Program

The preview program lets you test new features early and share feedback, though preview builds can be buggy or incomplete. Before starting a run of preview updates, back up your settings via Settings → Advanced → Backup Settings. To join, head to Settings → Advanced, toggle Update Preview Program, and restart Mix It Up to update to the preview version.

Uninstalling

How you remove Mix It Up depends on how you installed it. If you used the installer, it registers a genuine Windows entry, so open Windows Settings → Apps (Add or Remove Programs) and remove Mix It Up there, which runs its dedicated uninstaller. You should also delete the Start Menu folder that holds its shortcut. If you used the ZIP version, simply delete the unzipped folder.

Your settings and data live separately in %LOCALAPPDATA%\MixItUp and are not deleted automatically. To remove them, delete that folder, which you can reach via Settings → Advanced → Installation Folder in the app or by typing %localappdata%/MixItUp into the Windows Explorer address bar.

Keep in mind that deleting your installation also deletes your data, since your settings only exist on your computer. Uninstalling generally will not resolve issues you are running into and is not recommended as a troubleshooting step unless you are specifically advised to do so.
