Getting Started
Ko-fi lets supporters send you tips, memberships, and shop orders. Connecting it to Mix It Up generates a unique webhook URL that lets Ko-fi send payment alerts directly to the app.
Events
If a supporter marks their message as private on Ko-fi, the $donationmessage Special Identifier will be empty so the private message does not surface in stream alerts.
Ko-fi Tip
This event fires when a tip is received through your Ko-fi page. It provides all of the Donations special identifiers along with all of the standard User special identifiers that represent the user that sent the tip.
Ko-fi Commission
This event fires when a commission is purchased through your Ko-fi page. It provides all of the Donations special identifiers along with all of the standard User special identifiers that represent the user that purchased the commission.
Ko-fi Membership (First Time)
This event fires the first time a supporter starts a monthly membership on your Ko-fi page. It provides all of the Donations special identifiers along with all of the standard User special identifiers that represent the user that started the membership. The following additional Special Identifiers are available:
- $kofitiername = The name of the Ko-fi membership tier
Ko-fi Membership (Recurring)
This event fires for each recurring monthly payment of an existing membership on your Ko-fi page. It provides all of the Donations special identifiers along with all of the standard User special identifiers that represent the user that paid for the membership. The following additional Special Identifiers are available:
- $kofitiername = The name of the Ko-fi membership tier
Ko-fi Shop Order
This event fires when an order is placed in your Ko-fi shop. It provides all of the Donations special identifiers along with all of the standard User special identifiers that represent the user that placed the order. The following additional Special Identifiers are available:
- $kofishopitemname = The list of ordered Ko-fi shop items along with their quantities (EX: Sticker Pack x2, Mug x1)
Connecting
To connect, head to the Services page in Mix It Up, find Ko-fi, and click Connect. Mix It Up will generate your unique Ko-fi Webhook URL. Copy that URL and paste it into the Webhook URL field on your Ko-fi Webhooks page. You can send test payments from that page to try it out. Ko-fi retries deliveries until they succeed.
